Blender Weight Paint Hair
Weight painting is a method to maintain large amounts of weight information in a very intuitive way.
Blender weight paint hair. I thought this meant that particles hair in this case would generate from the heavily weighted faces of the mesh and none at all from the unweighted blue sections. Start by creating an overall vertex group in weight paint mode of where you want your hair to be. Weight paint mode will now allow you to pose your selected bone while weight painting the mesh object to it. I rig and weight paint a model fine do some animating and find a vertex or two with some misplaced weight but when i return to weight paint mode nothing happens when i try to do any painting.
While the armature is in pose mode select a bone. I made a mistake when thinking this was going to be an easy mesh to rig. If you need to remove weight from the vertex group set the blend mode to subtract instead of mix. It is primarily used for rigging meshes where the vertex groups are used to define the relative bone influences on the mesh.
This has happened before and i ve had to resort to previous saves. Select your mesh and press ctrl tab to do this by default then start painting areas on your mesh where you want hair to be. Set the weight paint brush s weight to 0 25 or 0 5 leave it on mix and paint only where you want hair to grow. This is the second part to the rigging tutorial the weight painting.
Then select your mesh object and switch it to weight paint mode.
